    Hey Gang,

I’m in the process of transitioning three of my Shopify stores over to WooCommerce. I’m quite familiar w/ WordPress and have my own server, which hosts my WordPress blog, and since I have admin access to the server, I can setup as many vhosts as I like.

My question is what would be the best way for me to stage the new site and develop it while allowing my Shopify store to stay online?

I thought about creating a CNAME or A record for a hostname like “staging.mystore.com” to point to the IP address on my server, so I could install everything and build out the store, and then just change the store URL in WordPress to be https://www.mystore.com instead.

Not sure that would work. I don’t want to just SHUT DOWN the Shopify store and redirect the domain to my WooCommerce store w/o having ample time to get it prepared.

How would you recommend I proceed?
