Best way to feed X amount of images to home page (with one line of text)

Say I want to have 6 image boxes on my home page. Each box would have an image and one line of text to describe it. These would be coming from my blog…

So each time I create a new blog post, one image box would be updated… and so on .. and so on.

Would it be easiest just to manage the images manually rather than try to feed them? Or is there something out there that does the job for me.

Appreciate any suggestions guys…
