• Hi guys

I am a noob at this but has volunteered to help make a site for a very small non-profit organisation.

They atcually need to make a site in two languages (It would be nice to be able to add more, if things go well, but two at first) It should be a site with about 4-5 pages. it should not be a blog, just meant for presentation.

My main question, for starters, is how it would be the smartest way of setting this site up, I would love to have a function where the viewer can select to view the page in his/her language.
I cannot figure out how this is done in the smartest way, do you have suggestions?

I am currently hoping to be able to keep my current theme (Adventure journal)

  • There are some full-fledged plug-ins for multilingual sites, including WPML and qTranslate. A simpler plug-in is the Bilingual Linker.

    Hi Zoonini

I am really sorry for answering such a long time after your reply; I have been away.

Thank you very much for your links.
I am not sure this is exactly what I am looking for though.
The thing is, that I want to create a site, that is static (To the visitors at least) It is just to be used as a presentation of the organisation. (WordPress just seemed like a great and intuitive tool)

I pretty much just want the users to have the option of selecting their language in the top of the pages, and then the pages should be shown in the language they chose (I plan on handling the translations myself)

    I hope this makes sense?

    Thanks a lot:)

    Hi

I have tried installing qTranslate, (WMPL appears to have become commerical)
After fiddling a bit with it, I actually think this can solve my problem, to a satisfying extent:)
I cannot change the headlines etc. But I’ll figure this out by editing the text, and keeping it simple, and using universal terms/language.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, really helpful, even though I was not convinced in the beginning:)

    Thanks!
