Best version of WAMPServer for WP4.5

  • Hello,
    I would like to try a local installation of WordPress to prepare myself for going online when confident.
    Looking at the requirements, I see several versions of WAMP server. Is it advisable to use the latest version (3) or go fo something a bit older (2.4 or 2.5)?
    I find different answers online and cannot decide.
    I am using Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

    Yes, you will find a lot of different answers and a lot of that is because a lot of the articles may be outdated.

    There really is not best it is what is best for you and what you are trying to do. WAMP is just another tool to help you develop sites with PHP, MySQL and apache. Very much like XAMPP, DesktopServer, VVV, or even IIS they are tools.

    What many do recommend though is trying each out and seeing which you like better.
