Thanks a lot for your feedback Dan!

A few people have inquired about video. I haven’t needed to add video slides to any of my own projects before so I haven’t looked into this much. But I have integrated the slideshow with a lightbox and linked a still from the video to the video embedded in a lightbox.

That worked out pretty well, I guess if you were going to do it as a video slide you’d want to disable the auto advance of the slides so that you could actually watch the video without it cycling away. I suppose this could be automated too. What are your thoughts, how do you want to use video?

Do you prefer drag-and-drop sorting, like Post Types Order, or something simple like an order number field?

What kind of documentation are you looking for for the cycle effects, examples of the different transitions like this, or more like a basic description of what each one does?

    Hi Josh
Regarding the video, I would think about being able to embed a youtube/vimeo video, and to have a selected still image representing the video. When clicked, the video starts playing inside the meteor-slides window and the cycle of course stops. when the video ends, the cycle continues.
I don’t have to tell you how much video is popular and I have been getting plenty of requests regarding video in slideshows.
Look at this site I made a couple of months ago using meteor and video:
    https://www.mychic.com/
All the requests above would work great with this site.

I would prefer drag and drop sorting – it is the easiest and most understandable (similar to ACF repeater field – if you are familiar).

Documentation – actually if there were some more demos with the different meta’s in the shortcode and php template code.

Another point – maybe you could create a tinyMCE button when clicked the user can select which slideshow he want’s to add to his page (like the one nextgen gallery has).

    Thanks alot!

That looks great Dan, I love how you have customized the slideshow on that site. I’ll experiment with video slides and see what I can come up with.

Yeah, ACF is an awesome plugin, but I haven’t tried out the repeater field yet.

I can add some more examples, my next goal with the documentation is to have a video screencast for each page in the documentation, so that could help cover more of that ground too.

A video would be great, and maybe even add some more help items to the help area in the wordpress admin, like you did.

    Hi Josh,
Could you help me out – I would like to have an image in my slideshow when clicking on it would play a video in the same slide window – without a lightbox, just inside the window.
    Can that be done?

    Thanks
    Dan
