Best Plugin to remove clutter

  • Asset Cleanup helped me to reduce about 40 requests according to Gtmetrix. Speeds up my site enormously!
    Being able to disable scripts and styles not only side-wide but for every page or even post selectively if I choose so is amazing.

    And everything for free, you guys rock!

    @bestofbonus many thanks for the positive review (the 600th one)! I’ve checked the website that you have on your www.remarpro.com profile and it looks like there are still assets that are very likely not needed to be loaded (on both desktop and mobile views) so you can remove even more requests including:

    • /wp-content/themes/mercury/css/animate.css?ver=2.3.4
    • /wp-includes/css/dist/block-library/style.min.css?ver=5.2.6
    • /wp-content/themes/mercury/css/owl.carousel.min.css?ver=2.3.4
    • /wp-content/themes/mercury/js/owl.carousel.min.js?ver=2.3.4
    • /wp-content/plugins/simple-lightbox/client/css/app.css?ver=2.7.1

    I’d also try to unload emojis site-wide (you don’t seem to use them) and jQuery Migrate (at least on the homepage, I’ll be extra careful with this one).

    You can enable “Test Mode” while doing these unloads and view the homepage (if it looks the same or not, it should be fine as Google Coverage is over 90% right at least based on my experience).

    Hi Gabe,

    Thank you for the advice. That site has actually been abandoned by us for a while, the new one that I used Asset Cleanup for isn’t listed there.

    All I can say is it works like a charm, I was able to cut page size requests noticeably by trial and error.

    I will recommend the Plugin to anyone who needs help with site performance.
