Best Plugin But Doesn't work with WP 4.5.2

Display Widgets is a highly useful plugin. I have one site that relies heavily on Display Widgets for complex rules on when to use widgets. However, it does not work with WP 4.5.2, and there has not been an update for 8+ months. Is the developer abandoning this plugin? If so, could she please state this somewhere so we can find a permanent alternative? If not, is there an ETA on when it will be updated to play nice with WP 4.5.2? Thanks!
