• You should ALWAYS use a staging site when testing new critical plugins like payment gateways. This one may have had issues but now seems the most up to date and stable and I think it is the cleanest layout in my site. It may require you to get some things like Merchant ID, Client ID and Secret Key from Paypal. But if you are running a business with Woocommerce and Paypal you should really have these things available. Some plugins only require you to use a password and email. I don’t use these — seems the most obvious way to collect information about my paypal account.

    Hi @virgojoe,

We usually recommend using the integrated onboarding procedure as it allows you to connect your PayPal account with only the email address and the password. It will also allow you to activate certain features in the account used by the PayPal Payments plugin.
There is, of course, the option to manually connect your API credentials, but it may result in not all features being available out of the box (such as vaulting or the PayPal Card Processing).

In any case, we are always happy about user feedback and are working towards providing the best possible PayPal solution for WooCommerce.
If any questions come up, don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
