• I am in need of instituting a system whereby people can be asked to fill out a survey, for example, with a link provided in a newsletter such as MailChimp, then have that information stored as data so that future newsletters can be targeted to individuals based on their responses. I’m not even sure this is the right forum to ask this, but I figure someone would have experience in this.

So, thinking of apps like Survey Monkey, MailChimp or wordpress plugins, which app or combo of apps would be the best way to accomplish this? I have not yet checked out the capabilities of a PAID MailChimp account, to see what is offered through that.

The idea is to accomplish this with the minimal amount of human input.

Right now I can only think of having a link in the mailing list asking for input, leading to some sort of survey, and then recording that information in the mailing list so as to create a segment for each response.

If anyone has ideas on how to best collect responses and then be able to target readers according to their responses please chime in?

I’m afraid we’re not going to be able to help you without going off topic from WordPress. Do you want to start with some WordPress plugins first?

What I’d do is use a plugin like Formidable Pro and it’s MailChimp extension. Formidable collects and stores the data and as a post-processing step or steps, would assign responders to mailchimp lists based on based on either explicit or calculated choices. You could also use just one list and store tags to allow you to segment the list. I tend to thing that different lists is a better option because it’s easier to keep it all in mind and unsubscribing from one list will not affect others.

Sure. I would rather use what’s already in there with WP, and then see how to integrate it.

I don’t need help with setting up, but just the ‘bones’ of what I should try.

    THANKS!

@webmistressofthedark Please do not open new topics for the same thing. Topics like that are removed when found as duplicates make it more difficult for volunteers to help you.

This is something completely different than a wordpress plugin. The plugin was for membership to a site, say for example to gain access to podcasts or such.

    That was already solved.
