Best IDX tool for WordPress

I did a lot of research on all of the available IDX feed solutions for WordPress and I can say that this is the best I’ve found (by a long-shot). The SimplyRETs API is very clean and easy to use, I would like to commend the developers on that.

The plugin itself is very good, in that it has plenty of shortcode options and works seamlessly with the API. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found it very difficult to customize the output of the plugin. We’re using this service as an add-on for a highly designed, market-leading brokerage in a large metro area and the plugin’s default markup and styling was not adequate. In the end we forked the plugin and customized all of the output. I hope the API is relatively stable and we don’t regret that decision in a year.

I admit that we’re a bit of an edge case, but if there were a way to override the default templates without completely forking the code, it would have made me much more excited about using the plugin in the future. Next time, we might just build a custom javascript app powered by the SimplyRETs API.
