Best free image slideshow/slider for custom theme?

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a free wordpress slideshow plugin ? im looking for something simple to use where i can just place the shortcode inside the div i want the slider to display in, and set the dimensions in the plugin settings and images can be added from the wordpress dashboard?

By the way when i say a slider/slideshow i mean something like skitter slideshow… I couldnt work out how to use this one.. I installed the plugin, placed the shortcode inside the div, set dimensions and activated the plugin, and chose which image category to use and no joy
