• My website running WordPress is getting about 45,000 unique visitors daily.

Because of the high traffic, I had to get a dedicated server. Even with 2GB memory dedicated server and wp-cache plugin, it’s still crashing.

I believe the theme and plugin might have caused some problems so I got an expert in PHP and WordPress to optimize the code for me. It’s has just started the optimization…

My question is, what is the best dedicated server configuration for WordPress? What kind of server software to install so it’d speed up WordPress?

Please try to be specific. Thanks.

  • 45,000 uniques a day is pretty good. But I don’t think you need to dish out $150+/month just yet.

Sign up for a host like Media Temple… even their (gs) plan can handle 200k without evening a sign of a slow down.

Optimization of the theme is obviously important.. check redundant queries and get rid of any minor plugins you don’t need. You might also want to re-index your db just to see if it helps speed things along. Good luck!

    WP-Cache is a gift from God ??
