    Cons
No auto-fill the book data and book cover
Not able to rate in half/stars. (I know, I’m stretching here…)

    Pros
    Customizable layout
Ability to organize books by author, subject, genre, rating, title, and series
Easy to use and stay organized
super fast response from plugin author on support
It fits within theme, doesn’t demand its own ‘look’

After using other plugins and review plugins, this is the best there is out there. It’s ease of use, powerful organizational engine – you won’t find a better one.

The support is super good as well. Gives you the ability to either include in your main feed of posts OR leave it as a stand alone category.

    Thanks for the kind words!

I’ve been asked about auto-filling book data before, so it’s something on my mind. I haven’t had time to dig into what would be involved (obviously a huge undertaking) but anyone open to help build it can contribute! ?? https://github.com/jazzsequence/book-review-library/

I’ve also been asked about the half-star thing before. I basically chose to not go down that route because it’s a lot more overhead and the basic justification is that Netflix and Amazon both use full stars for user reviews (although what displays is an aggregate total). As someone who occasionally writes reviews for things, I agree that 0 – 5 is limiting, but it’s much easier to group items by rating if you have fewer options to choose from.

The beauty of your plugin is that it is lean and fast. I would imagine adding the auto-fill in and the prerequisite APIs would be quite a bit of code. I could be wrong but I’m not sure the work/bulk of that feature is worth it. My two cents.

Half-star – like your explanation. Still a great plugin.

You’re not wrong. That’s what I keep coming back to. Still, it would be a pretty cool feature. Maybe someday. ??
