Yes I tried that after noticing the problem but did not help. Somehow it overrides everything.

Were you using a plugin to handle the redirect before installing WP User Avatar? I ask because it’s not a built-in function that I know of in WordPress to redirect to a page other than the dashboard after login. If you were using a redirect plugin, which one were you using?

No, it was redirecting for subscribers to the home page by default without any redirect plug-in. I installed wp User avatar and it works properly until I turn on the subscriber option. Then when I log in as a subscriber, it takes me to the dashboard rather than the home page. If I turn it off for subscribers then it takes me to the home page. I only installed the redirect plugin because of this problem, but doesn’t seem to work. WP User avatar seems to override any redirect and take over.

What theme are you using?

If you give Subscribers the ability to upload avatars with my plugin, they’re given edit_posts capability. I’m guessing that your theme checks for that capability and redirects to the home page based on that setting.

Hi, sorry for the late response, I became a father in the mean time, ?? I am using a premium shoutbox theme I purchased through themeforest.net. Your plug-in handles the avatar change in a nice way, but it is really pity that it gives edit_posts capability to subscribers. Because I am creating a site for a magazine, and there would be legal consequences, if I allowed subscribers to edit posts. Or even allow them to post articles in the magazine site. It would be a nice feature to leave the default behavior of wordpress for subscribers, but still allow them to upload an avatar.

Subscribers need edit_posts capability to upload an image to the Media Library and be able to edit the image. That’s the only purpose I’m using the capability for. Subscribers cannot create posts or view them in the admin. They also cannot view others’ uploads and are limited to one upload.

If I’m correct about your theme using edit_posts as the basis for redirecting, then try changing it to delete_posts, as that is a capability all other roles will have.
