• Hi Vrata i am a beginner using your “Post my cf7” plugin but i have difficulties. May i know what is your hiring rate to guide me through the steps to make the plugin work as shown in the link?
You can reach me at : [email protected]

My questions (related to the linked website) are :

    1. Can the user save the form, and return to the same form with the default values set as what the user saved?

    2. how can i enable this function? i have followed the steps to the best of my (insufficient) understanding and am unable to get it to work the way i want it.

(elaboration of question 2: When i click the “Preview” button of the saved post, it redirected me to the CF7 where form only contains the “edit” button without any fields.
Clicking the “edit” button brings me to form in the Dashboard to edit, but i would want to edit the saved form in the original design of the form.)

sorry i had to post this request here as I can’t reach you on your website, the Recaptcha doesnt work so i can’t send you any emails from there unfortunately.

    regards,
    Allen

Update: i managed to get it to work, i would like to put some bugs i found and the plugins that can work with your plugin for documentation purposes.

    1. How I got “post my CF7 forms” to save my old fields and reload when the user returns to the form:
(instruction for beginners like me with little coding skills)

    – In the Mapping button that contacts “Default post fields”, “Custom Meta Fields” and “Taxonomies” tab, add all your form fields into either the “Default post fields” or “Custom Meta Fields” tab, make sure EVERY field from your form is included for them to be saved. It doesn’t matter whether its saved to your “Default..” or “Custom Meta..” tab for your form to be saved.

    – In “Save form to post” column on the right; below the “attributes” tab, make sure that every row is checked.

    – Now test out the form by saving it and reload the page, the fields will reload the fields previously inserted by the user. (Ensure that the “Save” shortcode is inserted within your form for the ‘Save’ button to appear).

    2. Bug I found:
    – Mapping does not get created when the name is too long, for example “long-text_and-and_symbolsreallylongtext”. This bug disables my form from saving.

    3. List of plugins that work with “Post my CF7 Form”:
Next, for documentation purposes i would like to provide the list of plugins that worked with the “Post My CF7 form” plugin.
    Plugins that worked are:

    – Contact Form 7 Conditional Fields By Jules Colle. v1.8.3
    – Contact Form 7 Multi-Step Addon By ThemeREX. v1.0.1
    – Contact Form Submissions by Jason Green. v1.6.4
    – Live Preview for Contact Form 7 by Addons for Contact Form 7. V1.2.0

Can the user save the form, and return to the same form with the default values set as what the user saved?

yes, use the [save] tag in your form. The save tag works just like the submit tag, and places a ‘Save’ button. When you logged in users clicks save, it will save a draft which they can continue to fill in later on by revisiting the page with the form and the values will be reloaded in the form.

(instruction for beginners like me with little coding skills)

I agree that the explanations are a little terse for a newbie ?? I am planning to make a video tutorial with these explanations.

that would be really useful to convert to a Wikipage on the GitHub repo. Let me know if you want to collaborate on this, I can give you access to the wiki page to create the tutorial, and we can then link it to the plugins page for other to find it.

Mapping does not get created when the name is too long, for example “long-text_and-and_symbolsreallylongtext”. This bug disables my form from saving.

oh? that’s odd. I will test this on my local server and revert back to you.

that’s a great idea. I will add it to the page!

PS: ideally since these are all different issues, they should all be in separate threads. You can also create bug issues on the Github repo.
