• Hi everyone,

    Saying this goes against me;
Plugin writers spend a lot of time toward their plugins and doing so for the greater WordPress community, for free.
Yet, by listing your plugin on the WP repository, you have a certain level of responsibility,
and especially when you sell a premium version of your plugin.

I’ve bought a few licenses of WP Filebase Pro over the years; It is truly a great plugin, and a whole heap of work has gone into it.
However, communication from Fabian is non-existent, with the odd surface once every few months.
I have premium support tickets of 6 month and 1 year still not answered.

It may be that Fabian has a very good reason, and it may be personal, what ever it may be, I hope that you’re okay Fabian?

Still people should be aware of the level of support they can expect before buying Filebase Pro.

I only wish that there will soon be reason for this thread to be removed.

    Regards
    Schalk

  • There was an update for 3.1.05 and www.remarpro.com admins removed the plugin.
It’s seems that new version had some kind of vulnerability.

Several weeks ago a friend of his responded to me on Facebook stating that he was alive and well. Apparently he has walked away from this project and is not looking back, as he refuses to respond to any of my direct inquiries.

A friend had an email from someone claiming to be Fabian, telling him the plugin “will be back soon”. Today there appears to be an update version 3.4.0. Can’t put my finger on it but there’s something wrong about all this and I don’t trust this update.

“Back soon” is really strange if there is no communication and of’ course there is no new version or something else…

Someone has further information about that?

edit: I found the following in the latest answer at Internal Server Error

They removed it because it directly includes wp-load.php (IMO there is a good reason to do so), working on it to get it back. You should receive updates anyway (3.1.05 includes the fix), served through the WP-Filebase Pro update channel, even if you are on free. Otherwise check https://github.com/f4bsch/WP-Filebase for latest changes.

It seems to me, plugin have to be rewritten so there is no need to include wp-load.php.

I wrote two mails to Fabian in the last three weeks concerning the need of update of my Premium license.
    No answer.
At this point it is clear that the plugin is abandoned and I must convert my site to a new plugin.
This is a pity because this plugin had almost everything I needed.
This is the risk you run using plugins developed by one-man companies…..

I updated the wp-filebase pro today and have one issue I’m trying to figure out. The icon in the toolbar that I use to open wp-filebase on a post isn’t going to the editor page, but instead returns a 404. Does anyone know where to change the options so it goes to the right post? (Worked before I upgraded to 3.4.3)

Has anyone bought a pro license recently?
I’ve come this far with it and feel i could do with the pro upgrade even with possible lack of support.

However i’m a bit concerned reading some comments from people not receiving a download link. Wouldnt want to just throw money away.

    cheers
