    Hi,

We’re currently using a very clunky, time consuming ad manager and are looking to switch. We sell ads to local businesses, and insert them as images. We have our own theme, to which we can plug ad code anywhere.

Let’s assume I have two ad spaces, a header space and a footer space. Could I create one ad and target it as follows?

header space, only on posts and pages of two categories.

Can one ad include two images, one square for mobile and one rectangle for desktop? Or would I need to create a different ad space (eg. header desktop and header mobile) to display different size ads?

Can I have multiple ads set for one space, say the footer, and have a different one load each pageview?

Right now with our current plugin we need to create a separate ad for each space, and it’s very time consuming (ie. a separate ad created for Homapage Header Desktop, Homepage Header Mobile, Homepage Footer Desktop, Homepage Footer Mobile, etc. for every taxonomy, even if the actual ad image is the same). We are looking for a solution where one ad can be targeted to multiple taxonomies and spaces.

    Thanks.

    Hi keyrat,

thanks for reaching out and your interest in our solution.

Please notice that this forum is for help with the free Advanced Ads plugin only. I am going to reply here since most of your questions relate to the basic plugin. If you have follow-up questions regarding add-ons then please use the customer support on https://wpadvancedads.com/support.

    > Let’s assume I have two ad spaces, a header space and a footer space. Could I create one ad and target it as follows?

Yes. That is the advantage of having ads and placements separated in Advanced Ads. You can use the same ad unit multiple times. Once a placement is set up, you can change the ad or ad group delivered through it in the backend.

    > header space, only on posts and pages of two categories.

Yes, Advanced Ads comes with Display Conditions which allow delivering the ad based on things like categories, post type, author, etc.

    > Can one ad include two images, one square for mobile and one rectangle for desktop?

That would need to separate ads. You can group them to make ad delivery simpler.

    > Can I have multiple ads set for one space, say the footer, and have a different one load each page view?

You can set up a rotating ad group. It would normally show ads randomly, so it is possible that an ad is repeated. With some custom coding, you could create a chain of ads that shows each ad once before returning to the first one.

    > We are looking for a solution where one ad can be targeted to multiple taxonomies and spaces.

As I mentioned, Advanced Ads can re-use the same ad if the image is the same and stats don’t need to be different per ad placement. Duplicating ads is also possible if creating them is the problem. If I am not missing something then Advanced Ads should be an improvement for you.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Thomas
