Beaver Themer / Dashing membership Clash

With Dashing Membership enabled, I attempted to create a new Beaver Themer Layout. The result was a WordPress ‘your site is experiencing technical issues’ email, and a failure to save the layout. Disabling Dashing membership, Beaver Themer worked.
We would like to use Dashing Membership to simply give learners access to one page per course
