    Hi,

I’m having a big problem with Yoast and Beaver Builder compatibility. Both tools are awesome, btw.

The problem is Yoast is breaking the Beaver Builder layout and Beaver Builder is breaking the Yoast work. This is because if the user edits anything Yoast-related it must be done from the Gutenburg editor view. But once you hit “Update” to save you have to go to the frontend version of the page, open it in Beaver Builder and save because the Gutenburg editor changed the layout and now it’s broken.

So while I feel like this is definitely more of a situation where it’s not Yoast’s fault and is kind of being held hostage, I’d like to ask if there is a Yoast online tool available, where users can do all their SEO work and then copy/paste into Beaver Builder. I am aware of this tool: https://yoast.com/research/real-time-content-analysis/ which is great, but it’s not very robust. Is there a paid version available?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi @chunky2010,

Thank you for reaching out and giving us a thorough explanation of what you are experiencing. Let’s see how we can help.

We know that, when you are using a page builder your to the frontend, you lose direct access to the Yoast settings. However, when you edit a post or page from within the block editor without changing anything to the content of that post or page, it shouldn’t impact the layout. If it does, we believe this more an issue between the block editor and Beaver Builder. Are you only using the block editor in WordPress, or do you run the Gutenberg plugin? If you are not using the Gutenberg plugin but just the core WordPress editor experience and have this issue, we would recommend reaching out to the Beaver builder team.

For your other concern, there is no paid or other alternatives to the real-time content analysis on Yoast.com, unfortunately. You can however write your content first in the block editor to get the Yoast recommendations and then copy-paste it into the page builder of your choice.

First, thanks for your quick reply. I really appreciate it!

Yes, I can disable Gutenburg (and I don’t like it anyway, the old school editor was working just fine), but the issue will persist. For some reason editing content outside of the page builder breaks the layout and even hides some content. This is why you have to go back to the page builder and republish it. And again, to be clear, I think Yoast is simply a victim in this situation. The real problem is with the text editor and page builder, as you also confirm. But the bottom line is it makes for a huge amount of confusion and cognitive load on the part of a non-technical user. And naturally so because it’s a segmented/broken user experience.

I guess the best we can do is to ask them to use your online tool for the SEO work and then copy/paste into the page builder? What are your thoughts?

    Thanks again.

    Hi @chunky2010,

We definitely understand that this isn’t the best user experience. Since each page builder uses its own custom interface to add content, it’s not an easy issue to solve for all those who use them as well as Yoast SEO.

For now, you’ll have to make all your edits to existing pages using Beaver Builder. If you’d like to use Yoast SEO’s analysis tools, you should avoid making any changes or saving the pages using the Gutenberg block editor or the Classic Editor.

As you mentioned, it may help to create the initial content in the block editor to make it easier to optimize using Yoast SEO, but the best workflow will depend on your users.
