bbPress Notify (No Spam) slows bbpress submission

Hi,

I have a site that uses both bbpress and bbpress notify. This works well aside from when a user submits a new forum it takes time to submit the new post. I have troubleshooted the issue and it looks like deactivating the bbpress notify plugin solves the issue. On the other hand, deactivating the plugin also disables the email notification function which is needed for the site.

I think the issue is with the number of users to which the notification regarding the new forum post is to be sent out. Is there anything we can do to speed up the process?
