BBPress includes new page into menu system

  • This is possibly not the correct place to post my question, but I find it completely hopeless to find my way around here.
    I have all my pages included in Mega menu system, but now I have made a new page which shall NOT be included and I have set parent to NO parent.
    Nevertheless the page is shown in the menu. How can I remove it?
    The name of the page is 0000000000000000

  • Dashboard –> Appearance –> Menu and delete that one menu item you don’t want.

    While you are there drop down to ‘Menu Settings’ and untick the checkbox beside ‘Auto add pages’ so it won’t ‘Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu’.

    Save!

    The Parent-Child relationship for pages doesn’t do anything with the menu itself but establishes the hierarchy of parent pages to child pages.

    That’s standard WordPress by the way. Nothing different in BBPress so it’s not a BBPress issue.

    But I have one page, which the menu menu says is invalid.
    It is this one: /about-me/my-opinions/
    And in menu it is shown like this: – My opinons
    What’s wrong?

    Just to be sure: It is shown like this: “– My opinons”

    Looks like you were able to remove the menu item you didn’t want.

    That WR MegaMenu plugin isn’t supported anymore so I think you need to disable that.

    That could be what is breaking the site and stopping the loading which is what I see here.

    I think I’m seeing a page called ‘post’ also… did you create that?

    I’m also a little concerned about the About me page and how that just ‘dies’.

    There’s an SEO plugin there also that showed itself for a moment (I think) then went away. You might disable that temporarily.

    I have disabled Mega and SEO, but that does not help.
    I have no page by the name of post.
    What do your mean that About me dies?
    And why is the page named “– My opinons” ?

    I’ve been looking at your site and pages and haven’t figured out what is going on there yet.

    There’s a line of text on your page that doesn’t display but looks like it should and I can’t figure out why.

    I’ll try to look again in the morning but I’m starting to suspect a theme or plugin issue or else it’s that parent/child thing and something residual from the menu plugin.

    From your URL’s slug it looks like you have a category “About Me” and that your page “My Opinions” is mapped to that category.

    The dash in “- My Opinions” is probably because the theme is treating the menu item as an un-ordered list.
    You probably need to add some “Additional CSS” under your Customizer to change the list style to none.
    You may need to use !important.
