bbPress doesn't work with my custom theme… how can I make it work?

  • I’ve been working on a custom theme for a new website of mine and I am having trouble getting the bbPress plugin for wordpress to work properly. Everytime I activate it, the website just goes BLANK.

    I tried copying the bbpress theme files into my custom theme’s folder and then enabling bbpress theme support in my function.php file.. but that isn’t working at all.

    what am I doing wrong? or is there more to this?

  • you need to do a lot more than simply enable theme support , have a look at the functions file in the included twentyten based bbpress theme. you should also copy and modify to suit the page templates, single templates and archive templates to your theme.
