    Hello all! I would love to switch to Baskerville 2 as I need a responsive theme that keeps the header images (I randomly display customized headers for my site). So far so good, Baskerville does exactly that. But there is one strange problem. The site displays an index of all the authors I wrote about, and a click on the author’s name is supposed to bring up a page with all the articles dealing with this particular person. The connection is made by a tag, so the link is in the form: https://baugelitt.eu/tag/author/. When clicked in Baskerville 2, nothing shows up except a kind of radiating symbol (like a sandclock, I imagine). The strange thing is, when I reduce the size of the browser window (or when I switch to mobile in preview-mode), the content shows up. I would be grateful for any hints on how this could be fixed!

  • Hi Thomas,

    I’m unable to replicate the issue with tag archives on a development site.

    Does the issue persist for you when all plugins are temporarily disabled at the same time?

    I get a “page not found” error when visiting https://baugelitt.eu/tag/author/, which normally means that no posts have the tag author.

    Other tag archives seem to work fine, such as: https://baugelitt.eu/tag/belle-liseuse/

    Could you go to your dashboard at https://baugelitt.eu/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=post_tag – and double-check that the tag author has one or more published posts in it?

    @zoonini

    There isn’t supposed to be an actual archive at https://baugelitt.eu/tag/author/

    Thomas was using it as an example where “author” in the url would be the tagged author name.

    At the time the thread was posted, no tag archives worked, but they seem to now.

    Ah, I see! Ha – thanks for clarifying that, Gary. ?? That makes more sense now. Glad the archives are working – Thomas, let us know if you’re all set!

    Hello all and sorry for the delay… I had to spend quiet a lot of time in order to figure it all out before applying the changes to a productive site.

    I proceeded as Gary suggested and I found the culprit. It was the extension “Huge IT Lightbox” that prevented Baskerville from displaying the articles unless it was on a mobile display. One does encounter strange phenomenons from time to time ?? Once removed, everything works like a charm !

    A big thx to you all and – happy Easter !!

    You’re welcome, happy Easter to you too! ??

    Glad you found the conflicting plugin! I’ve mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if you need help with anything else.
