• Resolved WP Turned UP

    (@wpturnedup)

Hi. I’ve recommended this plugin to people a lot in the past and it was working when I tested it at some point.

I went to do a tutorial for it and now I cannot get the very basics to work.

Here is a super short video showing demonstrating what I’m seeing/not seeing.

    Thank you!

    Hey @wpturnedup,

Sorry about that. The good news is we’ve reproduced the issue.

It looks like if you accept the default Content > Is A Post setting, the restriction does *not* take effect.

Can you edit your restriction again? This time in the Content tab, change the selection to something else. Then, switch it back to Is A Post and save your change.

Once you confirm that workaround fixes it, we’ll get that issue added to our list to take care of.

    Please let us know.

    Thanks so much

You bet! I posted a video about your plugin on YouTube for our community. Our niche is online directories. Happy to share the video with you if it helps you in any way.

    Great support!

@wpturnedup – Is that the new default Twenty TwentyTwo theme? If so there is something very wrong in it that I haven’t really seen discussed. Doesn’t seem to call the_content which is how we filter the post contents.

I found this out when trying to use Elementor builder with it and it showed the notice that the editor wasn’t being rendered. This is because they also filter the_content and that wasn’t happening.

Maybe just try using a different theme?

Hi. Everything is working fine for me. I just used the proposed workaround, above.

But, yeah, I tried a couple of different themes.

Feel free to close this, but I’m also happy to test some things further if you’d like.

@wpturnedup – Were you originally using the new default 2022 theme? Curious as I know issues that could result in your problem exist with it.

Trying to confirm whether that was part of the issue, or just resaving the conditions was the issue. Hard to see why the latter should even be a thing as to render the proper conditions they needed to be saved that way already.

Just a strange fix honestly unless there is a query/object caching layer like Redis that is stale.

In my testing, the issue is present regardless of the theme in play.

The issue only seems to lie with ‘Posts’. When testing with a custom post type, the issue is not there like it is with ‘Posts’.

The workaround to first select anything under ‘Posts’ and then circle back to select ‘Posts’…works just fine.

    Hey @wpturnedup,

We added this problem to our issues list.

We’ll let you know when we get a permanent fix for it.

    Closing this thread for now.

    Have a great weekend ??
