• I have been using the basic image insert instead of one of the plugins as it works perfectly and text wraps the way it should. I just upgraded to 2.6 and the little icon on the tool bar is gone for inserting text.

When I use the icon on the next line up.. the “add media” line the word do not wrap, even when I select the position and it shows as wrapped in the editor and in the tool window as well …

Can someone explain what happened to my little tool bar icon that was working so very well.. What happened to the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” idea?

Great… now can you tell me where to put those snippets of code?

It says to put them into the theme but that is an incredibly broad description considering how many pages there are on the “theme editor” page.

“Put this or something similar into your theme.”

thanks for the help so far

Yeah the insert image icon went away after the upgrade to 2.6 for me as well but we just rolled back to 2.5 anyway and the icon came back and the other errors are gone too.

In your theme’s style.css file. Generally that’s the only CSS file in your theme, so I thought it rather obvious.

Of course, if your theme is more complex, then it depends entirely on the theme, so there’s no way to be 100% sure.

And the other image icon was intentionally removed. It was causing user confusion because it didn’t allow people to upload an image. The front screen of the image uploader now has a place to put in the info to allow you to insert external-to-the-site images instead of uploading them.

Now that I’m in semi-functional mode on my site, I’m not sure which icon you’re talking about. I host all of my images on an external site, and now that my little icon is gone, I’m not sure how to go about inserting them.

Click the Add Media button, just like you were going to upload an image. But instead of uploading an image, look below the upload buttons. There’s a place there to put in an image URL and everything else. That will insert an external image into the post.

    Up and working. Thanks.
