• I’m using BGMP for a site that maps academic programs. In our city there are two universities with the same sort of programs (ours and another). My boss would like it so that when you’re zoomed out at high levels, the one star that you click on is our program, not the other one.

I thought this would be a simple matter of changing the order of how they were entered into the system, so that ours showed up either first or second in the bgmpData.markers Javascript. But oddly that doesn’t seem to make any difference?

Even when I have it so that bgmpData.markers has something like ourprogram:theirprogram:ourprogram, theirprogram shows up “on top.”

I thought maybe it was alphabetical in some way, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Is there any way to control the order? Is this just a Google Maps API issue? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

  • The Maps API lets you pass in a z-index value, which controls how they stack when they overlap, but the plugin doesn’t support those yet. I’m planning on adding that capability in to the next release.

This is working in 1.4 now.
