• Great script which seems to be light weight. Typically chats scripts can usually load up your server by the constant pinging to show newly added chat messages, this is why many chat scripts are hosted. The ability to easily craft your own custom CSS is also great. However the default CSS is designed well, practical and easy on the eyes.

Timestamping on chats are in fact a default function – you have to hover over the chat message to see the time posted.

    Glad to help:

“Unfortunately the timestamp function is not a part of this script, which is vital to monitor when the chat message was posted.”

Yes, there is a timestamp function included with the plugin. On the front-end each chat message includes the timestamp in the HTML. And you can hover your mouse over any chat message to see when it was posted. This is a design decision to help keep the UI clean and uncluttered. Also it enables custom-coded solutions via the provided markup. Further, on the backend, you can visit the Manage Chat panel to view the timestamp of each chat message. So you’ve got timestamps available on either side of WP.

“My bigger question and concern is, why has this not been integrated for such a vital function?”

It has been integrated, see previous reply.

I hope that you will reconsider your rating. I’ve spent years of my time developing and supporting this FREE plugin at no cost to anyone but myself. A negative review really hurts, and seems unfair in this case. The plugin is quite capable, and does in fact provide timestamp capability on both frontend and backend.

From your messages I did not understand that it is in fact included. Let me check and revise the review. My apologies.
