    Hi,

It would be really useful with a “normal full width” template for pages where full width is needed such as cart and checkout.

    Hi @ehandelsforeningen,

A full width template is at the top of my list for future updates. For now, I’ll add some CSS to the upcoming update, available later today, which makes sure that all WooCommerce pages always display full-width.

Also, keep in mind that Chaplin isn’t built to be WooCommerce compatible (right now, at least), so a lot of the Customizer settings (like the color settings) won’t work with all elements on WooCommerce pages.

    Hi,

I understand that and yes, adding CSS is a good start. Thank you.
Looking forward to a full width template, preferably two? It would be really nice with one with no header and no footer = only content, which works with Gutenberg.

    Hi @ehandelsforeningen,

That’s not add a bad idea. I’ll include the following templates in the next update:

    1. Full Width Template
    2. Only Content Template
    3. Full Width and Only Content Template

…Where the last one combines the functionality of the first two into one template. I’ll also update the Only Content Template to support posts as well (it only supports pages currently).

    Hi again,

Another idea would be to enable text on the featured image used with the Cover Template template = being able to add text onto the image the same way we can when using “Cover image” feature within Gutenberg.

Combine that with the option to hide the H1 title of the page and we have a really nice landing option.

    Hi @ehandelsforeningen,

You can use the excerpt field on pages to add text beneath the H1 title in the hero on the Cover Template. Themes on www.remarpro.com aren’t allowed to add custom fields for content input, so I can’t add any more content to that section. You could start the page with a “Cover” block and hide the default header, though (either in CSS or by using the “Only Content Template”).

    Hi @anlino

Could it be that “full width” has not yet been implemented or activated? Since “full width” text only works if using the “Full Width and Only Content Template” on my site with version 1.0.17.

    Hi @andreasmartin,

You’re quite right – there was a bug in the 1.0.17 version preventing it from taking effect. It’s fixed in 1.0.18, which should be available as an update within half an hour.

    — Anders

@anlino many thanks for the update (1.0.18) – brilliant theme!

A “Cover and Full Width Template” would be a fantastic combination as well.

+1 for @andreasmartin’s suggestion of “Cover & Full Width”. That would bring Chaplin in line with Twenty Nineteen I believe…

@andreasmartin @nicholasyeo Look for it in the next update! I might add a site wide full-width option in the Customizer as well, for those who want all posts and pages to display full-width without having to go through all of them and switch page template.
