• This plugin was great at first. I was able to easily create a contact form and add it to my site. However, WPForms is not transparent about the functionality of the free version. It’s not possible to view any form entries unless you purchase their premium version, which I didn’t realize at the time of installation.

    Despite following WPForms’ tutorials to ensure that my form’s notifications were properly set up, I have not received any email notifications. Even when I submitted a dummy test entry, I was not notified of anything.

    If I had been informed that I needed to pay in order to view entries right after installing the plugin/before creating a contact form, it would have been fine. But I’m now at the point where there are a handful of form entries that are not accessible unless I subscribe to the premium version. There are a couple of other plugins that will show me new form entries, but I don’t like having to download an extra plugin in order to gain access to features that should have been available in the first place.

    tl;dr The form entries aren’t viewable unless you buy the Pro version, which defeats the purpose of a WPForms lite being a free plugin. I wouldn’t recommend the WPforms plugin, because you need to download another plugin in order to make this one usable.

    Currently WPForms Lite does not have the feature to store entries, and we’ve provided clarification about this on the Entries page in Lite. And if you have any suggestions on how we can better clarify the entry page notice in Lite, please let me know.

    If ever you decide to upgrade to the paid version, you can absolutely store and manage future entries on your site.

    With WPForms Lite, you can set up form notifications to send out form submission details to your preferred email address.

    If you had set up email notifications but still not getting emails from your form, your site might be having email delivery issues. This is becoming an increasingly common issue across the internet, unfortunately.

    By default, when your web server sends an email (which by proxy includes WordPress and WPForms), that email is not authenticated or verified. Instead, it is sent anonymously on behalf of your email address. This is one of the metrics email providers are starting to leverage as they combat spam.

    In short, emails that are not sent with an authenticated account or service often experience issues with deliverability. Sometimes they go through, other times they end up in the Spam folder or don’t get delivered at all.

    The way to resolve these deliverability issues is to configure WordPress to send authenticated emails. Essentially, that means installing and configuring a plugin on your WordPress site that tells it to send emails authenticated instead of anonymously.
