• Is there a way to add a specific e-mail address to the Spam Karma blacklist? I am trying to ban a specific user who always enters the same e-mail address but seems to be bouncing from IP address to IP address. I know that Spam Karma keeps track of e-mail addresses because addresses that have been attached to a lot of good comments earn good karma — in fact, that’s my problem, as this guy posted a lot before he became such an jerk that I felt compelled to ban him. I can’t figured out how to get at the karma values for those addresses though! Any help would be helpful! (I’m open to alternate methods of banning peple too, obviously.)

  • I’ll second that. If there’s a way to do it using the e-mail address or user name with Regex, I haven’t figured it out yet. He keeps slightly changing the content so I can’t really get him there. Any help would be appreciated.

If he’s never succeeded in getting a comment published you could use Peter Westwood’s companion plugin to SK2 which moderates all first time commenters.

I wish Dr. Dave would integrate SK2 w. WP’s default anti spam features so you could use WP’s defautl e mail banning feature. I once asked Peter Westwood to consider attempting to tweak the plugin in that way but he never got around to it & I didn’t push him.

I too asked Dr. Dave about using Regex in that fashion I think he replied that you had to know a helluva lot about Regex to do that (& I don’t). But I could be misremembering the exchange. Maybe you just can’t do it period.
