Banner & Text on Thumbs Alignment

My slider is here.
I’m having trouble getting text to align and the style of the text on the main banner to play nicely (I want the title bigger and pink like the rest of the page titles and the description plain without shadow effects). I’m seeing overlapping text at the moment on the main banner and the dark strip doesn’t seem to follow the ‘main image width’.
How do I get the thumbnails to also use custom fields that I created (slider-title and slider-description)?
On my thumbs, it doesn’t look like the thumbs are aligning right within the grey areas and the text is also too high.
Can you please point me in the right direction?
