Banner/ Add in Widgets

I would like to place a banner in the widgets section. i have installed the Adserve plug-in but its limited to posts/pages. Any idea what plug-in should I use. or maybe I use the Adserve plug-in wrong. I have php widgets installed but when I add [!AdServe:zone!] nothing happens.
