Is it possible somehow to block ip numbers that have been probing, automatically? So I don’t need to scroll thru the logs and manually block the ip numbers?

For example, after 2-3 attempts (or after 1 attempt, like I would do), it will be blocked (for my preset time limit in the settings)

    Hi @psypat

The IP address is already being blocked automatically so there isn’t any further action that you need to take.

We do not recommend permanently blocking a lot of IP address as outlined in our guide below:

Yes, as long as wordfence are recognizing the attack, they are blocked, but I want them banned for a while, so they can’t continue to probe the site for issues that wordfence might miss..

    Hi @psypat

    Thank you for the update.

A number of blocking features in the plugin are not time-based and there is a very good reason for that as outlined in the link in my last reply. Manually blocking a lot of IP addresses is not an effective security strategy.

I do understand that, but however, a shorter block, so the same ip can’t continue to probe the system?

    Hi @psypat

    Thank you for the update.

You can use the BLOCK IP button on the Live Traffic page entry if you want to temporarily block an IP address. Our instructions for that button are in our guide below:

Hi @wfphil Yeah, I know, but I was out for a more automated ban, so I don’t need to sit and watch :)… who’s got time for that?
