• Bait and switch pricing – you’ll be auto upgraded to a price point you didn’t want. Then you’ll get nags to upgrade to a higher tier for features that are available elsewhere for less.

  • Hi @jongaze ,

We’re sorry to know that you felt a bit misled about OptinMonster’s billing practices. Our team strives to be transparent and upfront with our pricing, so I’d like to clarify our process.

When you reach the limits of your selected plan, your account is automatically upgraded so that you can continue using our service. It’s kind of like how you might be billed for an internet service, or streaming service. We also provide email notifications as you approach your limits, so you’re aware of the charge and can make adjustments to what happens when you reach those account limits.

You can read more about those settings here – https://optinmonster.com/docs/pageview-and-upgrade-preferences/.

Additionally, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with our service.

We understand that our billing structure may not work for everyone, and we wish you the best of luck in finding a platform that meets your needs.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us.

Umm, when I reach the limit of simultaneous Netflix streams, they do not auto upgrade. When I reach the data cap of my mobile provider, they too do NOT auto upgrade, by default.

Yes, I am shopping for a new optin service, and I always read the 1 star reviews first. I don’t like what I’m reading here. I will keep searching for something that offers free service, without payment details, with an option to add premium, and only then payment, if I like what I see in the free tier.
