• The BadgeOS Earned User Achievements widget works as it should , but until the first badge is earned, the widget is blank, and that could be confusing for visitors. The widget allows me to set a title, category, and the number of badges to display, but no text description.

How can I force some introductory text in there so that even when no badges are earned, it’s clear that the area will be populated with earned badges? Is there some code that I can edit to achieve this?

    thanks

Doesn’t look like there’s any sort of hooks or extensible spots in the current widgets. It does display a message if the visitor isn’t logged in, but not anything if they are and have not earned an achievement yet. I have filed an enhancement issue to try and change that fact, but I can’t promise any sort of timeline for it.

Excellent news, thanks for the follow up. I think this will be an important enhancement to the widget.

Regarding that Earned User Achievements widget, is it capable of displaying the badge description like the shortcode is?

No, with the out-of-box widget, it’s pretty much what you see is what you get. If you’re savvy with code or have someone around who knows how, you could duplicate and modify the widget and make your own version, including your indicated modifications above.

Okay, thanks for all and help Michael.
