BadgeOS Conflict – Need fix

  • After my last update on Aug 13th to 1.4.8.2 I started to notice something weird with my site’s post comments. Although a post may have comments in the database, visible in the dashboard there were not showing on the post page. Instead I would get the message “No comments yet.”

    I did a lot of testing to see if it was a theme issue. Finally deactivated all plugins to see that fixed it. Started reactivating a few at a time until I isolated the conflict to the BadgeOS plugin.

    I really depend on BadgeOS but my readers care about comments too ??

    I’m using a child theme of the latest version of the Canvas Theme by Woothemes

    I run about 80 active plugins. It is a multi-site install… but I only run badgeos on 1 site.

    Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated!

    I have the exact same issue with comments disappearing when upgrading from 1.4.8.1 to 1.4.8.2.

    I blamed Jetpack and my host and my dog until I deactivated and reactivated like jacobspaulsen and narrowed it down to BadgeOS.

    I am using a child theme of GeneratePress with 63 active plugins.

    I reverted back to 1.4.8.1 for now. That fixed my issues. It looks like there is far more support related chatter on github…

    We have been investigating this issue, and have been experiencing some trouble attempting to replicate.

    With BadgeOS 1.4.8.2 enabled, we have reviewed the following:

    1. Confirmed old comments are visible on existing posts
    2. Created new comments on existing posts
    3. Created new posts, and added new comments

    In all of the above scenarios, our comments are being displayed. Do you have any other scenarios we are missing in our attempt to replicate this?

    No, that is a good list. I’m running a Canvas child theme from woothemes. Running on WordPress Multi-site but have BadgeOS activated only on the 1 main site.
