    Hi there,

I am totally confused about how I create the most optimal setup for my Multisite/Buddypress Community site. I have read multiple posts from Googling..but I am still not finding the answers I seek.

My Multisite is just for one single-domain (not a blog farm), the main-site is also the blog/community site. I have installed Buddypress, Badge OS & BadgeOS Community Add-on. My issue is I want the badges to appear Network-wide..as Buddypress creates this environment naturally when activated network-wide.

    So, my questions are…
    1. No matter where the achievement may be earned on any site..Will the appropriate Badge be awarded to the users Buddypress profile and follow the user on all sites?
    2. Do I need to force the user to go to Credily in order to have this work (not my ideal setup). But I think perhaps this is necessary since the plugin is free..if so will upgrading remove the user having to report to Credily? (I plan on investing in the Add-ons but upgrading is really expensive though totally worth it once my site is profitable.)
    3. Do I need to setup all badges on all sites..and the user will be automatically rewarded the appropriate badge? (Seems redundant especially if BadgeOS is network activated with an additional Community Add-on.)

Currently the information does not seem to be shared between the sites. However I will need to do further testing. if there is any documentation regarding BadgeOS & Multisite or tutorials please point me in the right direction as I have watched tons tutorials on your site, and youtube, and googled everywhere.

    Thank you for your time.

    1. I know there are some things regarding querying network wide stuff, but I can’t recall at the exact moment what it relates to without opening up the source code. I also think there’s maybe a bug at the moment.

One thing to keep in mind is that achievements are post types, and thus related to the posts/postmeta tables in WordPress. Because of this as well, each site in the network has their own tables. So each site gets their own achievement sets.

    2. Credly integration is completely optional, and not required for displaying all from the network or for the plugins to work in full.

    3. See my answer from bullet point 1. BadgeOS isn’t really set up for one achievements setup for an entire network to be honest, it’s more fit for individual sites in the network.

    Michael,

Thank you so much for your reply for some reason I didn’t receive notification of your response and just decided to check on the ticket myself..glad I did…

I just really need to understand the behavior of the plugin so to know as how to proceed. I can direct all traffic to the main site quite easily I just don’t want to waste time with something that inherently isn’t going to work without some custom work.

I do have a plugin that duplicates posts and publishes from site to site within Multisite I did successfully get this to work as well but for some reason I couldn’t get BadgeOS to reward the badges from the duplicate..so i’ll focus on the main site and just redirection for now.

    Thank you for clarity!

Is this plugin duplicating post meta as well? or just the main posts table? You’ll need both, as well as some other tables with “p2p” in them. It’s sadly not THAT easy to get BadgeOS moved between network sites. Would be interesting to set up some sort of plugin to help with that though.
