I am integrating BadgeOS with Learn Dash LMS. Within LearnDash, one course can be a pre-requisite for another. I have a situation in which I want to have one badge that can be earned by completing one of three courses. Once the badge is earned, I would like it to unlock access to another course. The course prerequisite is dependent on the badge, and not necessarily on a specific course.

Does BadgeOS have the capability of using a badge as a trigger to allow certain pages to be accessed?

That sort of functionality, to unlock access to a different course/page url doesn’t sound like something we’ve implemented at all, but I’d need to look over the available triggers with our LearnDash extension to be absolutely sure.

That said, it wouldn’t be THAT hard to do custom. Just need to check if a user has earned the achievement, which I know we have helper functions for, and conditionally display the page content at that point. These would be theme template edits, but it should be possible.

Michael – Thanks for the reply. I am glad to hear that it would not be too difficult. That being said, I am by no means a programmer. My area of expertise is educational design. How can I go about getting this sort of functionally added to the BadgeOS / LearnDash plugins?

Best I can offer at the moment is just opening up an enhancement issue on GitHub around the idea, so that we can review and evaluate.

Marking resolved as it’s a known request.

I also think this would be useful. Thank you!
