  • Yes and it says “COnfiguration error” without telling what the error is.

I have tested and tested, but forms work well. So please clarify why this update is suddenly singing “Configuration error” no matter what I do?

    Hi,

everything is good before the update, now two errors after the update, the “From” lines and “Subject”
    the first line I
    [Your-name] <[your-email]>
This email address Does not belong to the Saami have the domain site.
    then second line
    [Your-subject]
This field can be empty DEPENDING ON user input.

I have therefore edited like that
-First line, put my site email
    [your-name] <[email protected]>

-Second line add a word or phrase
    Subject [your-subject]

    Like that error message more

Yes, [your-name] [your-email] has always been in the From Field. With or without the < > around [your-email], either way.

I’m sure it’s just a bug in the lastest update.

    Hi,

There is no bug, I deal with three sites, I did it on 3 sites, put an email with the domain name of each site, the form works and 0 error.

    [your-name] [your-email] NO

    [your-name] <[email protected]> YES

    to see https://contactform7.com/setting-up-mail/

    noaneo,

that doesn’t make sense. Why should the From Field all of a sudden be from the site it is coming from?

I have at least 50 client sites with CF7…you know how much work that would be?

From Field makes sense to have sender’s name and email.

For that matter, emails still send fine, without changing anything. It is an error in the backend for some reason.

I understand but this is not a bug, the author has read messages and to even put a message on the forum

you need to modify the 50 sites

the plugin is changing, things are changing, you have to adapt
It tolerates more errors, it indicates in front
    https://contactform7.com/setting-up-mail/
    article on 2009-12 – 04T 03 date: 14:22 + 00:00
    and changed the 2015-06-12 T 12: 02:36 + 00:00

I am not seeing errors with red border. I still have mail tags in the from field. Above all, it is an extreme nuance to have to check the email body to see the sender’s email and name. Have you ever received an email without the sender’s info in the inbox??

Further, if you have the email address of the domain set up in a mail client, you’ll have it twice, in both the inbox and outbox.

Not a great contact form then, is it?

The next thing is, what happens if you use SMTP plugins or WP Better Emails? They usually override CF7 from field.

    Hi,

I do not use SMTP plugins or WP Better Emails.
to do as on the documentation of the site, fill each tab
    https://contactform7.com/admin-screen/

to have all information in the mail, complete the “Message Board” as there

SMTP or WP Better Emails has other benefits though, too. In conjunction with CF7. ??

I limit the number of plugins, for not having too many queries, to not slow down a site, so CF7 works without plugins, so I do not want to install them
CF7 offers to send mail in HTML

Richard is right. I use SMTP plugins. I know what spoofing is, I know what PHP mail is.

This latest update from CF7 is ridiculous. noaneo, you’re barking up the wrong tree. No one wants to reply to themselves when they receive an email! Why is this so difficult to understand!

Sorry I do not speak English, I am using a translator to understand, I do not understand your problem.
I know that the solution seems weird, must put his email, I repeat, I have tested on several sites, with the amendment, putting another email and it works, I have received the mail.
Despite the fact to his email, it does not change the envoyur email, well, hers in the mail received.

Forgiveness but this change does not come with the latest update, I have installed CF7 on a site a few months ago, by default I have this configuration, the only change with the last update, indicates the old configuration as an error while before it did report.
But despite the error the plugin works, isn’t it, so do not take into account the error message.

I did not say that Richard was wrong, it offers 2 plugins that I do not use and I do not want to use, I am forced to install?

A lot of web & smtp servers don’t allow to send emails on someone else’s behalve.
Also a lot of spam filters wont let emails trough where to “from” sender is sent from a different IP adres as allowed in the DNS SPF-records.

The solution is (probably) the additional headers where you can set a ‘reply-to’ address
    Reply-To: [email]

(as far as i know this is a default configuration)
