Bad UI logic

You should find most of these fixed in Version 1.1.

The UI has been changed to be (hopefully) more intuitive. The main setting to enable/disable updates is now a dropdown, and the dependent options have been changed from disabled to readonly, so that their values are retained. The core option has been changed to a select dropdown, to control the level: minor, major, or development. (Note: the way to disable minor core updates is to disable updates altogether.)

I’ve also added options to enable Plugin, Theme, and Translation updates – as well as options to disable update result emails (altogether, or by result type).

Not much I can do about the placement on Settings -> General. I think that settings page is the correct place for the Plugin’s options.

I have version 1.2.1 and nothing has changed. I check “Permit Automatic Updates?”, save and “Permit Automatic Updates?” becomes unchecked. And I don’t find how to enable “advanced” settings.

Please delete and reinstall the Plugin. Version 1.2.1 no longer has a “Permit Automatic Updates?” checkbox. It has been converted to a select dropdown.

It would appear that your update did not happen successfully/completely – or else you might have a caching issue?

I don’t know what happened, but searched plugins to install, and clicked “upgrade”, since this plugin was already installed. I usually don’t upgrade this way. The header of the main plugin file clearly said “1.2.1”. Partial update of some kind must have happened.

Anyway, I have now reinstalled, and the UI seems fine.

Yes, and with any potential future updates, the intent will be to keep the Plugin’s defaults consistent with core defaults.
