+1. I’d love to hear from the current author (Till) whom I *still* regard highly for his other works. I use his other plugin Redis Cache in almost every site that I manage.
Lately, I am considering only read-only access to PHP user, due to every increasing concern over security. Nginx user should already have read-only access. So, when I came across this review and this plugin’s design decision, it was a shock for me. So, I’d appreciate if the author clarifies a bit on it, when he gets a chance.
For all… please almost always create a support thread before reviewing any plugin. The author may have done certain things due to certain reasons. In a conversation, we should allow the other party to put forth their thoughts, before coming into a conclusion!
Even if the author made certain mistakes, we should allow them to review their own code and make changes, if necessary. We are human. Anyone who has been writing serious code knows that *if given a chance*, we will be refactoring every code we wrote a few years ago!
