BackWPUp upgrade to 5.0 frustrates
-
I liked using BackWPUp. You could configure the jobs very precisely in the free version. The design of the user interface was mostly based on the standard WordPress design. This made it easy to get used to. But with the upgrade to version 5, I am very frustrated. I can get used to a completely different design of BackWPUp, but all my jobs with their individual configurations are no longer executable. Instead, I can only configure two new jobs. And their configuration options have become very limited. Unfortunately. In addition, the backup of files no longer works because now BackWPUp creates (only?) TAR files, and an attempt aborts the process with the message that certain file paths in the existing website are too long for the TAR format. Generating ZIP files used to work without errors. But ZIP cannot be set in version 5 of BackWPUp. I am very frustrated. I hope the upcoming updates of BackWPUp will bring back all the possibilities which were available prior to version 5. Otherwise I will use a different plugin.
