BackWPup – (not) Running on Heart Internet

I’m trying to backup my site using this (or any other backup plugin) but I keep getting the error – The HTTP response test get an error “Failure when receiving data from the peer” when I try to run the backup job.

There seems to be an issue with cron job on Heart Internet so I followed advise in another post and went into Scheduled Tasks and set up a new cron job to run every 5 mins as below but still getting the same error –

– /usr/bin/php5 /home/sites/nickwalchphotography.co.uk/public_html/wp-cron.php.

I have emailed support but no reply (a week later!). Can anybody suggest a fix or another Backup plug in that works on Heart\Iclickster.
