    I have not been able to complete a full backup since we switched over our site to HTTPS.

    What I see in my FTP folder are multiple instances (50+) of the same uploads from the same backup session, ie:

    pclzip-[filename].tmp – 18.2 MB
    backup_[filename]-uploads[number].zip.tmp – 461 KB
    backup_[filename]-uploads[number].zip – 446.9 MB

    Yet nome of the “final” UpdraftPlus backups make it to my Dropbox.

    WordPress and my theme (Divi) are up to date, and so are my plug-ins including Wordfence – and I have been using UpdraftPlus for years without any issues.

    Thank you for your time.

    Can you post the full backup log (you will need to use a tool such as Pastebin)?

    Hi,

    Could you try to reduce the backup archive split size. This will split the backup into smaller, more manageable files. To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 50Mb, save your settings and run a new process.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    I made the change you suggested, but UpdraftPlus still won’t complete a backup:

    You can find the log here –

    Can you try adding the following to your wp-config.php?

    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

    It gets further through your Uploads so I think we are heading in the right direction

    Can you change the 512 to 1024 so;

    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘1024M’ );

    If this does not work can you ask your hosts for your php error logs?

    Thread Starter kevinlenahan

    (@kevinlenahan)

    OK, I changed the memory limit and have tried disabling all plug-ins except Updraft.

    I also reached out to my host to ask about my PHP log, and they were less than helpful.

    Here is my most recent Updraft Log: https://controlc.com/74d622de

    And I have installed Query Monitor and the only PHP issue is with a Plug-in that has been removed from the WordPress repository called “Divi Enhancer” by the request of the author – who I will be reaching out to to ask about the error.

    How much memory do you have on your hosing?
    Your log is showing the following; Error returned from makezip_addfiles: Failed to open the zip file
    We sometimes see this when here is not enough memory to make the backup on the server.

    For “memory” do you mean RAM or Storage?

    Is there a site size limit for sites backed up with Updraft?

    (@bcrodua)

    Hi,

    There is no limit with the backup size. UpdraftPlus is dependent on your server resources to create the backups.

    For memory, my colleague is referring to the site memory/RAM of your hosting.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
