    Hi there, we use UpdraftPlus to backup our charity website to DropBox. I run it manually before big changes. It has stopped working, but shows no obvious error message. Just the files don’t appear in DropBox or in the Restore/Backup list. This was not following any update, and I am using the latest version. I have also checked the DropBox authentication and it seems to be fine.

    I have the log file from my latest attempt but it’s 12 pages long so I haven’t included it. I would really appreciate any help – I have no idea (as you can probably tell!)

    Hi Chantal,

    Could you try adding the following to your wp-config.php file, then test a fresh backup:
    define(‘UPDRAFTPLUS_NO_BINZIP’, true);

    This will force UpdraftPlus to use an alternative zipping engine. If this works, then there is most likely something wrong with the zip binary.

    Using WordPress-4.9.6 clean install. Search for UpdraftPlus finds it but install fails. If I download the plugin to my desktop, then upload it to WP it installs and activates fine. However, it will not create a backup and posts an odd error “unexpected response”?

    How do I fix this?

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

    Please could you remove the extra line from wp-config.

    Then, please could you ask your hosts/server admin if it is possible to install/enable ZipArchive (a.k.a. php-zip) on the server?
    This should allow the zipping process to complete faster.

    @jeffgillis, please could you create a new thread?
