    Hi
I’m having a problem with UpDraft Plus. Since August 18th none of my backups have uploaded to Google Drive like usual and the last two have finished unsuccessfully.

Also since the 18th August no backups include the database file only:
    Plugins
    Themes
    Uploads
    Others

The archives are already split to 25MB intervals

The latest log is here https://file.io/InboZ1XDNN9G

Currently my website is holding onto a few old back ups due to the ones completed unsuccessfully and it is impacting performance so if you could help fix this problem it would be amazing

    Hi,

The log shows this warning message “8372.855 (11) [Warning] Your website is visited infrequently and UpdraftPlus is not getting the resources it hoped for; please read this page: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/why-am-i-getting-warnings-about-my-site-not-having-enough-visitors/”

It looks like you are getting a low visitor warning.
UpdraftPlus can only run backups when WordPress is loaded into memory. This usually happens when someone visits the site.

I would recommend setting up a number of dummy visits to the site via an external cronjob. These are automated tasks performed by the server.

You will need to set up an automated task to visit the site every 5 – 10 minutes (This will also keep the rest of your WordPress scheduler running)

Your hosts may have a tool to set up a cronjob, or you can use an online service such as Easycron or UptimeRobot

    Hi @bcrodua

Thanks, I will look into this. Would this also explain why they haven’t been uploading to Google Drive?

Site traffic hasn’t changed much from before and backups were happening and uploading to Google Drive then

    Thanks

    Hi Georgie,

I’ve checked again. It appears that the backup process is timed out or killed off even though the split archive size is already set to 25mb.

I would suggest asking your hosts/server admin to investigate their PHP error logs. These logs should contain more information on the exact issue that is causing the backup process to halt.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
