    Greetings…

We have been using UpdraftPlus for several years, and have just discovered that the backup files are not being uploaded to Google Drive.

Due to concerns over occasionally low site traffic, we elected to run the UpdraftPlus backups via a system cron job. There are no indications that the cron job is failing to fire when scheduled.

However, during a recent check of the Google Drive account, we found that the most recent UpdraftPlus backup that had been uploaded was dated 07/07/21.

We have checked the wp-content/updraftplus folder on the web server, and the backup files from the past several weeks are still stored there.

    Links to log files:

    UpdraftPlus log 01-12-22 miamigroup.org

    UpdraftPlus log 01-17-22 miamigroup.org

The 01-12 backup ran under cron, while the 01/17 backup was started manually this morning. The 01-17 backup shows a ‘Not finished’ warning and the Google Drive symbol in the Existing Backups list.

Can anyone advise why the backups are not being uploaded to Google Drive?

    Thanks…

    JGB

    Hi @meatbrain

I notice that you are using the old version of UpdraftPlus. Please can you update to latest version?

Sorry, I can see that the second log already uses the latest version but seeing this error “0169.091 (1) Google Drive: ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (Invalid request (refresh token not present).) (no_refresh_token)”. Can you re-authenticate your remote storage? If you get the same result. Try wiping out settings in the “Advance Tools” tab and then setup everything again.

@gennieofthelamp please can you send us a copy of the log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi Gennie,

    Apologies for the late reply.

I am still seeing the same issue with the Google Drive remote storage.

Can you wipe your settings and then re-authenticate with Google Drive, to do this

    – Navigate to Settings > UpdraftPlus Backups.
    – Click on Advanced Tools.
    – Click on Wipe settings.
    – Click on Wipe settings again.
    – A warning will pop up stating “This will delete all your UpdraftPlus settings – are you sure you want to do this?.” Click the OK to continue.
    – You are finished when you see a message stating “Your settings have been wiped.“
    – Re-authenticate with Google Drive in the settings tab.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

Thank you so much for your help @bcrodua. It works like a charm!!!

    Regards,
    Gennie
