    Hello

I choose Google Drive for the backups but I have a problem with them

They also go on the server (web host) despite me

I had checked the box in the options saying that the backups of the site do not go to the folders of my site in the host but, it does not work
do you have similar solutions, opinions?

    Hi,

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

Hi there, I have this same issue. It was flagged to me by my hosting provider who suspended the account for overusage. There were ‘several years’ of daily backup files in wp-content/updraft. I had already turned on ‘delete files’ in the expert settings so there is clearly a long standing issue that isn’t solved within the options. I have dozens of sites that use ths software are potentially will be subject to the same issue. I have experienced this with files that backup to Google Drive and those that backup to Dropbox. I have the latest log file available, do I attach that here? One thing to note is that a lot of my sites are low traffic and therefore I do see warnings about not triggering backups, I am not sure if that is relevant. Thanks

    Paul

    I can see the log

but do you have a main solution because

for me the option to cancel the backups in my web host was “on”

    so it is strange

Hi @marshallarts thank you for sending the log. It shows that the local files get deleted. Can you confirm if this was not the case? Did you check your wp-content/updraft folder if the backup exists?

@wpmusic2 pls send your log so we can check

    Thanks,

This is also happening to me. I even deleted updraftplus and reinstalled – and it is still backing up to the server when I have it set up as Google drive.

I can also state that the files are being uploaded to the updraft folder on the server and are not being placed in the google drive where I have the backups set to go.

@wpmusic2 – can you take a screenshot of the files on your sever.

@tinawalker – can you send us your backup log and take a screenshot of the files on your server as well?

we have the same problem, although we have only selected Google Drive for the backup, the backup is also stored on the hoster’s server. I will send you the logfile an would appreciate a shortterm solution for this

Here are Screenshots from the Settings in Updraft and from the latest Backup on the google drive server and the logfile.
