backup was not 100% complete

    Hey, guys,
    I cleaned my database with one plugin and it cleaned it so much from orphaned tables, cron jobs and options that the main menu and widgets in the left sidebar disappeared.

    Of course, I backed up everything before with UpdraftPlus, which I’m testing now.

    I performed a restore and everything seems to be ok, except that the widgets in the sidebar could not be restored. It happened on one or more pages. Which means the restore from backup was not 100% complete. (Maybe some options were not recovered)

    It may be that even Updraft has some error rate in backups, but I still wonder that if this is an isolated backup error, and I was the just the “lucky” one, or if I can expect something like this in the future as well?
    I have to manually re-set the widgets now, but nothing terrible, just questions arise around that, what if… it’s a really small website, no big data and hosting is great, but I wonder why it happened, even if the impacts are minimal in this case.

    Hi,

    To help us find out the cause of the issue, can you please send us a copy of the restoration log?
    You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your site via FTP.
    You can send the log file as an attachment or copy the contents into an online tool (such as https://pastebin.com/ )

    Hi Bryle,

    Thank you for your help, I am sending the restoration log in attachment.
    The widgets that disappeared from the right side were the widget for birthdays, that’s a separate plugin and then the widget for members from Buddybos. I feel as if only the settings for these widgets have disappeared. Otherwise the plugin works great and is neatly handled.

    Hi @realityman

    Is the plugin compatible with the WordPress version you are using? In some cases the widgets are restored but it is placed in inactive widgets.

    Well, the birthday plugin I don’t know, but BuddyBoss is compatible for sure. The active widgets are empty.
