I just upgraded to the latest version of UpdraftPlus Nov 17, 2016. I tried to back up my site to my Google Drive numerous times today and it keeps failing. An error message I see says “Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – You need to authorize or reauthorize your connection to Google Drive.

I went to Google and verified that all my credentials are correctly entered into Updraft. As recently as September I was able to backup everything without a problem.

I don’t know if this is a problem with the latest Updraft update or if Google Drive is messed up. In any case, I am a novice and I am not at all sure how to reauthorize my connection to Google Drive.

I have uploaded the log file to One Drive: Link: https://1drv.ms/t/s!As2iJM7ho-WUg3jVqM98Y0ZcVsjx

    File name is log.da0d04bb8ff9

    Any help greatly appreciated,
    Mike

    Hi,

Have you tried re-authenticating with Google Drive using the link in the Google Drive remote storage settings? This should reset the authentication token and grant.

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried your suggestion twice… when I clicked on the link you suggested. The link took me to Google where I had to log in and the click on accept. After each attempt above I tried to backup my files once again to Google Drive… sadly, I get the same error.

I got an email message from UpDraft that says the backups were complete… see below (I inserted a fake ‘website.com’ for purposes of discussion here):

Backup of: https://www.**mywebsite**.com UpdraftPlus WordPress backup is complete.
Backup contains: Files and database (Full backup) Latest status: The backup has not finished; a resumption is scheduled.

The processes restarts ad naueseam… still waiting on a token from Google.

I once again confirmed that all the entries/handshake information/secret code are correct and agree in both UpDraft and Google Drive.

Very frustrating as I am a novice and not sure how to resolve all this. I hate to do it because I am a novice… but I suppose I could just get rid of Updraft, reinstall it and start over with Google. As I recall it took my hours to do that before even with all the online instructions I found.

Any additional help or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

Problem Solved. Not sure how or why, but my backup today was successful.
